T-Mobile PGA Golf Experience
T-Mobile is the PGA’s Exclusive 5G Wireless Innovation Partner. To celebrate this partnership, T-Mobile asked EWI to create an immersive in-store golf activation using their 5G Network.
The design included a larger-than-life 3-dimensional golf ball sitting on a magenta tee, an embedded TV for spectators, LED edge lighting, premium golf turf, and PGA tee boxes for realism.
As a tech-forward company, T-Mobile wanted allow customers to play golf virtually on the best courses in the world using their 5G Network.
T-Mobile has an ongoing technology partnership with Meta, so EWI worked with Meta developers to leverage Quest 3 headsets, golf club accessories, and a special version of the PGA Golf+ Game.
Users could put on a Meta Quest 3 headset, pick up a sensor-equipped golf club and tee off right inside the store.
Customers could compete at courses such as Pebble Beach or Augusta National or try and hit the longest drive on a digital driving range.
The Golf activation was front and center at the entrance to T-Mobile’s Signature Store in Las Vegas, attracting customers into the store as they walked along the Strip.
The buildout also included T-Mobile and PGA dimensional branding, lightboxes and magenta accent lighting.
As with many of the sports engagements we have done with T-Mobile, the activation attracted engagement across a wide range of demographics.
T-Mobile was thrilled by the results and saw increased foot traffic and longer customer dwell times during typically slow months.
Customers had fun trying to earn a spot atop the leaderboard, posting their best rounds to get exclusive rewards.
EWI was proud to work with T-Mobile and the PGA to create a virtual golf experience celebrating their 5G Wireless Innovation Partnership.
